Korean sunscreen is seen by many as the benchmark when it comes to a pleasant feel on the skin. Instead of heavy, sticky creams with an obvious white cast, K-beauty formulas often rely on light, watery or silky textures that absorb quickly and are barely noticeable under makeup. Chemical filters convert UV radiation into heat and can usually be formulated to feel especially light and free of white cast, which is why they appear in many watery K-beauty sunscreens. Mineral filters such as zinc oxide sit more on top of the skin and are often considered a good choice for sensitive skin, though depending on the formula they can leave a slight white cast.
